Lindie and Dan, NYC

have a jam packed wedding day schedule? afraid there won’t be enough time to get all the fun shots you want in your wedding gear? then do like this couple’s done. Lindie and Dan aren’t married yet but that didn’t stop them from getting their wedding photos taken ahead of time. they knew that their wedding day schedule wouldn’t allow for them the time to roam through both manhattan and brooklyn for fun wedding photos such as the ones below so they did their photoshoot early. of course, you could always do an additional session after the wedding as well but they wanted photos to show at their wedding. on a cold and gloomy new york day we went through central park, to DUMBO (directly under the manhattan bridge overpass), and ended in times square. the shoot was great since you can never go wrong with those locations. the highlight of the day was when we stopped for a dinner break at grimaldi’s. no pizza tops NYC pizza. none. zip. zlich. not possible. don’t even try. =) so yes, it was delicious pizza and the place was packed (small space), and its not everyday they have a bride and groom come in to eat. people were congratulating Lindie and Dan left and right which was kinda funny since they weren’t really married yet. whereas i had shot in central park and DUMBO before, i had never taken a couple to times square for photos. needless to say it was pretty chaotic and super fun. we took shots with the naked cowboy, who is crazy for standing in 30 degree weather with nothing on but underwear, and went through the huge “toys r us” store for photos with light sabers and transformers. the crazy variety of lighting in times square really made for interesting photos as well and i’m grateful to canon for the incredible noise control on their 5D mark 2.

angie - you will be shocked (as was I) that New Haven pizza rivals, and yes, maybe even tops, nyc pizza. it is crazy but true. they have some sick italians in this piece.

The Broke-Ass Bride - I love the pizza shots – something about a couple eating in a “joint” while all dressed up always gets me. Especially when melty cheese is involved!

lindie - Great shots! It was fun roaming around the city together!

coast to coast x2

it’s been a busy past few weeks! the wedding season’s officially kicked off for me but i have yet to shoot one this year in chicago oddly enough. my traveling madness began when i went to NYC to do a fashion shoot for 3sixteen. a few days after that shoot i found myself in los angeles as the best man at my friend’s wedding where i had the honor of shooting a paebaek (traditional korean) ceremony for Hanna and Jacob. a week later i found myself once again in NYC for a weekday wedding shoot with Lindie and Dan that had us starting in central park during the day and ending in times square at night. and one day later i was in los angeles again shooting Maria and Mike’s wedding in beverly hills. its all been hard work and very tiring, but super fun at the same time. its really been an honor to be part of such good people’s lives. below are preview images from the events from the past few weeks.
