Elena and Chase, NYC.

life isn’t always all sunshine and rainbows. the same can be said of photoshoots. i’m always checking the weather forecast constantly days before an engagement or wedding shoot. whereas with commercial or corporate gigs you can reschedule; destination engagement/wedding dates are pretty much set in stone so whether its rain or shine you just gotta go out there and do it. there weren’t sunshine and rainbows for elena and chase, but there was me and some umbrellas. i’m so used to shooting outdoors in sunshiny weather that i forget how interesting a rainy day can be and how shooting in new indoor environments can really open up creativity. you can’t always control what mother nature’s gonna do but you can control what you make of a situation. so we took what lemons we had and..yea, we made some lemonade in the form of the photos below. despite the rainy day we had a great time thanks to the W hotel for their unique indoor spaces and complementary umbrellas. i was honored to learn that elena and chase had looked through every photographer on the knot website in the NY area and chose me (and i’m not even from NY). anyways, at the end of a busy day of being outdoors, be it rain or shine, it’s always nice to just be back home and cuddled up next to your loved one along with a cup of coffee and something good to read. congratulations again to elena and chase on their engagement!
