{ firenze & cinque terre, italia }

last year it was our turn to get married.
we were wed in florence and honeymooned in cinque terre.
these are the snapshots i managed to capture along the way.
they are not wedding photos.
these images start in florence and are mostly black and whites.
once we hit cinque terre the colors start to come in.
there’s nothing here i can tell you that you can’t read in some travel book
perhaps the images help but they only tell a part of the story.
memory isn’t some mechanical projection of images onto paper.
memories are like dreams. but real.
they’re not merely recalled by the mind
they’re felt by the body. by one’s entire being.
images are just a catalyst that help trigger these realdreams.
here are some of ours.

i’m trying out this new slideshow layout.
you can click the ‘play’ button (arrow, bottom right) for it to run automatically.
let me know what you guys think
is it better/worse than what we’ve done in the past with image after image?
feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

rich wu - beautiful shots dan. spiritual. heh heh :) did you use a tiltshift? you and sarah look incredibly relaxed. as for the slideshow, i personally prefer scrolling down, since so many photographers have slideshows which require tinkering and figuring out. yours however is beautiful and simple, so it works best of any I’ve seen. i think scrolling captures narrative a little better…but that’s just me. I’m sure others will like the cleanness of the slideshow. anyhow. peace :)

jen@greenweddingshoes - Gorgeous images! My husband and I also went to Cinque Terre for our honeymoon and your images capture it beautifully. So so lovely. I actually prefer scrolling through the images over a slideshow. Great work!

joonmo kim - I think scrolling down is better because some images captures attention more than others and I like looking at them as long as I want. Plus, it’s easier to go back to the image you want to see. That’s my two cents.

Chad - Ive been inspired by your work for a few years, and have been following your style, or at least trying to. You are an amazing photographer. I am currently deployed to war, and have been applying ur style of editing to some of the photos i have taken. Although…your website usually times out because the rolling slideshow you have is so long. Would it be possible to make it multiple pages or something? I really enjoy viewing your photos but am unable to because it times out. Thank you very much! Good luck! Feel free to view my most recent photos at http://www.urbanedistortions.net.
